About

Lesley-Anne Macfarlane is a narrative and documentary film producer with a passion for culturally rich, commercially viable stories that explore identity, belonging, and underrepresented perspectives. She produced the 2023 feature Little English, a heartwarming British South Asian family comedy supported by the BFI Audience Fund. The film screened theatrically across 600+ UK screens and is now available on digital platforms, demonstrating strong audience appeal and market reach.

Lesley-Anne has worked across short films, features, and industry training initiatives, often championing new and emerging talent. She has led productions that not only succeed on the festival circuit but also serve as a springboard for first-time directors and underrepresented crew. Her work in workforce development includes building bridges between education providers, employers and the film industry to diversify the pipeline and bring in new voices.

She brings a strategic, story-first approach to producing—grounded in audience understanding and a collaborative spirit. Lesley-Anne has assessed and curated work as a juror for BAFTA-qualifying festivals like the British Urban Film Festival, the One World Media Awards, and as an Assessor for Ffilm Cymru Wales’ Beacons Fund.

She is a BAFTA Connect and Women in Film & TV member, and an alumna of BIFA Springboard and Reclaim the Frame’s Filmonomics programme. As a founding member of the Caribbean Alliance of Film + Television Practitioners, she is actively engaged in cross-cultural collaboration and the global growth of Caribbean storytelling.
